Responsibilities
- Plan and lead safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Support the head coach (for assistant roles) in implementing team strategy, managing games, and mentoring athletes.
- Create a positive and inclusive team environment that prioritizes growth, effort, and learning.
- Supervise students during all team-related activities, including travel to games.
- Communicate with students and families in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with the Athletics Department and attend required coaches’ meetings and professional development.
- Uphold school values and model respectful, sportsmanlike behavior on and off the field/court.
Qualifications
- Prior playing and coaching experience in the relevant sport preferred.
- Enthusiasm for working with middle and/or upper school students.
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive team culture.
- Availability for practices and games during the after-school hours (approximately 2:30–7:00 p.m.) and occasional weekend competitions.
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification preferred.
Stipend
- Varsity season: Range from $5,500-6,700.
- Middle School Season: Range from $3,000-$3,750.

The Nightingale-Bamford School seeks dynamic, enthusiastic, and student-centered coaches to join our Athletics program for the Fall 2026 season. Positions are available in Varsity Tennis as well as Middle School Cross Country, Soccer, and Volleyball. These roles play an important part in supporting the physical, social, and emotional development of our student-athletes, while helping to foster a culture of sportsmanship, teamwork, and school spirit.
