Athletics: Assistant Coach - High School 26/27 SY
Responsibilities
- Coaches the designated sport under the direction of the Head Coach.
- Affords assistance to the Varsity team.
- Coaches the JV (2nd) and/or JVC (3rd) team.
- Provides guidance, instruction, and experience to enhance students' personal, physical, and social growth and development.
Requirements
- Must be a high school graduate or have completed a GED program.
- Minimum of one year of coaching and/or participation in the designated sport.
- Successful completion of WIAA Coaches Requirements.
- At least 19 years of age.
Qualifications
Knowledge of basic rules, strategies, coaching techniques and skills of the designated sport.
Effective behavior management techniques, team dynamics and group learning.
Skills in coaching and motivating athletes.
Effective communication, organizing activities and giving instructions.
Ability to relate to students, staff, administration and the public in a multi-ethnic environment.
To be fair and consistent when working with students.
Maintain accurate records and supervise fundraising activities.
Benefits
Sick leave accrues at the rate of 1:40 per the Washington Paid Sick Leave law.
Eligible for health benefits after 630 hours under conditions of the School Employees Benefits Board through the state of Washington.
This position is not eligible for Health benefits.
Pay
Compensation 21.30 per hour.
The budget for coaching hours is in alignment with the current coaching pay stipend salary schedule.
Schedule
Requires stamina and endurance; requires physical exertion associated with demonstrating techniques; required to travel between sites.
