About the role
The Athletic Trainer is responsible for delivering healthcare services within a multidisciplinary team, focusing on injury prevention, clinical evaluation, immediate care, treatment, rehabilitation, and organization at athletic events or practices.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate athletic injuries, provide supportive taping, and educate athletes, coaches, and parents on injury prevention and treatment.
- Cook up scheduling for radiologic studies, patient appointments, and community education.
- Offer athletic training coverage for high school athletes and community events, working closely with physicians and school staff.
- Maintain accurate injury and treatment logs, and oversee high school student athletic trainers.
- Promote sports safety and ensure proper organization of training facilities and supplies.
- Act as liaison among stakeholders, ensuring timely and respectful communication.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or related field.
- Certification as an Athletic Trainer and Basic Life Support (BLS) or BLS Instructor.
- Less than one year of athletic training experience required.
- Ability to interpret policies, provide on-site athletic training services, maintain logs, and promote safety.
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills, with sensitivity to diverse needs.
