About the role
The Athletic Trainer provides on-site medical support for local high school and college athletes, YMCA, and recreation departments. When necessary, he/she refers individuals to the appropriate specialist or General Practitioner. The Athletic Trainer provides patient education regarding injury prevention, anatomy, body mechanics, and rehabilitation.
Responsibilities
- Progress athletes through rehabilitation protocols and return them functionally to a state comparable to pre-injury.
- Refer individuals to the appropriate specialist or General Practitioner when necessary.
- Provide patient education regarding injury prevention, anatomy, body mechanics, and rehabilitation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institute required.
- Completion of an accredited curriculum established by the National Association of Athletic Trainers (NATA) Board of Certification required.
- Licensed as an Athletic Trainer and NATA Board of Certification/applicable state Athletic Trainers Associations.
Qualifications
- Experience Knowledge of the Athletic Training profession as normally acquired through academic experience, clinical affiliations, and/or previous work experience in the field.
Skills
- Knowledge of athletic training principles and practices.
- Ability to assess and treat athletic injuries.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay
Base compensation listed within the listed pay range based on factors such as qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and/or training. Premium pay such as shift, on call, and more based on a teammate's job. Opportunity for annual increases based on performance.
