Athletic Trainer PRN

About the role

Northwest Arkansas - PRN position for possible school fill-in coverage as well as weekend club sport coverage.

Responsibilities

• Recognize, evaluate, treat, and rehabilitate participating athletes who have suffered a sports injury or illness.
• Provide injury prevention education to athletes.
• Cover athletic team events and additional special events as assigned.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the assigned school, the parent/athlete, and appropriate healthcare providers.
• Provide appropriate sports-related care for athletes/patients and make return-to-play decisions as appropriate.
• Maintain documentation of patient/athlete interaction on appropriate forms, including any necessary follow-up.
• Keep the athletic training room neat, organized, and safe.
• Assist with supply ordering; maintain organization and inventory of supplies/equipment.
• Assist the sports medicine coordinator in budgeting related to the assigned school.
• Assist with the referral and scheduling of athletes to appropriate healthcare providers.
• Coordinate with school and district personnel on implementation of emergency action plans and sports medicine-related policy.
• Ensure the school insurance claim form is completed and appropriately disseminated.
• Act as educator and advocate for patient/athlete/family.
• Be available by phone to the assigned school when not on campus.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (required).
• Master’s Degree (recommended).
• 1 year of experience in a related field (required).
• Athletic Training certification (AR) – Arkansas State Board of Athletic Training (required).

Pay

Most new hires start between $24.40–$30.50 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
