Athletic Trainer- Lancaster General Hospital

About the Role

Athletic Trainers (ATs) work under the supervision of a physician to provide injury prevention, clinical evaluation and diagnosis, immediate and emergency care, treatment, and rehabilitation. They demonstrate professional and organizational skills to promote the health and well-being of the patients they serve, working in clinic or outreach settings at the highest level of their licensure. Responsibilities include ensuring appropriate interactions with physicians, identifying opportunities to build relationships with schools, colleges, youth programs, and events, reviewing service quality, acting as a liaison between customers, patients, support staff, and physicians, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide injury prevention, clinical evaluation, diagnosis, immediate and emergency care, treatment, and rehabilitation for patients.
  • Ensure staff appropriately interact with physicians and seek physician input on clinical matters.
  • Identify opportunities, build relationships, and secure contracts with secondary schools, colleges, youth programs, and events.
  • Review the quality and appropriateness of services delivered for effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Act as a liaison between customers, patients, support staff, and physicians.
  • Responsible for wound care and wound dressing.
  • Maintain a clean, comfortable, orderly, and safe working environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a CAATE-approved Athletic Training Program.
  • Master’s Degree required (unless graduated prior to 2022).
  • BOC Certified.
  • Maintain a valid PA State Athletic Training license.
  • Maintain CPR Healthcare BLS certification.
  • Meet CEU requirements to stay in compliance with BOC.
  • Maintain a valid Driver’s License.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of experience in a traditional setting.
  • Clinical experience in an outpatient office.

Equipment/Tools: Computer, phone, copier, printer, fax, office supplies, grinder, whirlpool, cast cutter, heat gun, telephone, intercom, dictation equipment, CRT, ultrasound, electrical stimulator, TENS, bicycle, treadmill, hydrocollator, computerized exercise equipment, fluidotherapy, phoresor, goniometer, blood pressure cuff, stethoscope, saw, scissors, reflex hammer, syringe, scalpel, hemostat.

Software: Microsoft Office Products, EPIC, Healthy Roster.
