Athletic Trainer - Full-Time, Days
About the Role
Provide services in regards to prevention, recognition, evaluation, immediate care, and rehabilitation for all active individuals and sports-related injuries. The overall goal is to maximize safe return to activity. Demonstrate professional development and responsibility within the field of athletic training. Perform related duties as assigned, consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and service standards.
Position Details
Location: Mercy Orthopedic Clinic - 650 S Mount Auburn, Cape Girardeau, Missouri
Shift: Days, Full-Time
Education
- Required: Graduate of an athletic training program from an accredited college or university.
- Preferred: Master's Degree in athletic training or related field.
Experience
- Required: N/A
- Preferred: Some experience, but not required.
Licensure
- Required: State of practice licensure or eligible for Athletic Trainer.
Certification/Registration
- Required: Certification through the Board of Certification, Inc.
Professional Rescuer CPR or its equivalent. - Preferred: National Athletic Trainers Association certification as an athletic trainer.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Must be trained and capable of performing patient care, assessing patient data, and interpreting information to identify age-specific needs and provide appropriate care.
Working Conditions
Clinical and/or Outreach Athletic Training settings. Requires adaptability, occasional odd hours, weekend work, and travel throughout the year.
Equipment Used
Therapeutic Modalities, Thermal and Electric Modalities, Computer, Dictaphone, Cellular Phone, Therapeutic Equipment.
