Athletic Trainer - Full-Time, Days

About the role

Located at Mercy Orthopedic Clinic, 650 S Mount Auburn, this full‑time day‑shift position provides services in prevention, recognition, evaluation, immediate care, and rehabilitation for active individuals and sports‑related injuries, with the goal of maximizing safe return to activity. The athletic trainer will demonstrate professional development and responsibility, perform assigned duties, and uphold Mercy’s mission, values, and Service Standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide prevention, recognition, evaluation, immediate care, and rehabilitation services for active individuals and sports‑related injuries.
• Maximize safe return to activity for patients.
• Demonstrate professional development and responsibility within the field of athletic training.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
• Adapt to clinical and/or outreach athletic training settings, work occasional odd hours, occasional weekend work, and travel as required.
• Use therapeutic modalities, thermal and electric modalities, computer, dictaphone, cellular phone, and therapeutic equipment.

Requirements

• Graduate of an athletic training program from an accredited college or university.
• State of practice licensure or eligibility for Athletic Trainer.
• Certification through the Board of Certification, Inc. (Professional Rescuer CPR or equivalent).

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in athletic training or a related field (preferred).
• Some experience preferred, but not required.
• National Athletic Trainers Association certification as an athletic trainer (preferred).

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Must be trained and capable of performing patient care, able to assess data reflective of the patient’s status, interpret appropriate information to identify each patient’s requirements relative to age‑specific needs, and provide the needed care.
