Responsibilities
- Provides onsite care and management of injuries and illnesses including prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation.
- Affords assessments of risk of injury, performs ergonomic evaluations and coaching, self-care implementation and overall wellness promotion.
- Documents all patient encounters in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Collaborates with injury prevention programs and customizes preventative strategies and programs for each patient.
- Minimizes risk of injury through awareness, education and prevention strategies.
- Offers accommodation recommendations, related to sport, for student athletes with restrictions or limitations.
- Communicates with physicians and coaching staff regarding the injury status of athletes.
- Administers medical care for assigned student-athletes per the sports medicine standard operating procedures.
- Performs administrative and other duties assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree.
- Required: BOC certified and possess state athletic training licensure, certification or registration (Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) certification).
- Required: NPI Number.
- Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Physical Requirements
- Work is medium demand.
- Lifting 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects.
- Medium strength is required to position patients for examination.
- May assist patients as needed, helping them on and off the exam table.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
