About the role

Serve as first-line responder, injury manager, and liaison for youth and collegiate athletes in a dynamic sports environment.

Core duties and responsibilities

  • Provides on-site injury prevention, taping, bracing, and warm-up supervision before practices/games.
  • Responds to acute injuries and emergencies during practices and games.
  • Counsels on injury prevention and safe return-to-activity protocols.
  • Maintains detailed and accurate treatment records.
  • Ensures compliance with HIPAA, state regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Communicates regularly with medical professionals, coaches, parents, and/or patients.
  • Develops and implements individualized treatment plans.
  • Administers therapeutic exercises and modalities to promote healing.
  • Travels with teams as needed, often working afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
  • Assists in the selection and fitting of protective equipment.
  • Maintains an effective and efficient athletic training room, equipment, and related implements.

Physical requirements

  • Requires the ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for prolonged periods of time.
