About the role
Serve as first-line responder, injury manager, and liaison for youth and collegiate athletes in a dynamic sports environment.
Core duties and responsibilities
- Provides on-site injury prevention, taping, bracing, and warm-up supervision before practices/games.
- Responds to acute injuries and emergencies during practices and games.
- Counsels on injury prevention and safe return-to-activity protocols.
- Maintains detailed and accurate treatment records.
- Ensures compliance with HIPAA, state regulations, and organizational policies.
- Communicates regularly with medical professionals, coaches, parents, and/or patients.
- Develops and implements individualized treatment plans.
- Administers therapeutic exercises and modalities to promote healing.
- Travels with teams as needed, often working afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
- Assists in the selection and fitting of protective equipment.
- Maintains an effective and efficient athletic training room, equipment, and related implements.
Physical requirements
- Requires the ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for prolonged periods of time.
