About the Department
The University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics competes at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics with the vision to reach Next Level Success for all 18 varsity teams and more than 450 student-athletes. The Bearcats have won eight national championships and 118 conference titles, with notable alumni including Olympic gold medalist Jordan Thompson, NBA Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson, and MLB legend Sandy Koufax. In 2023, UC joined the Big 12 Conference as a Power Four School. Student-athletes collectively posted a school-record 3.54 GPA in Fall 2025. About the Role
This full-time, salaried position involves developing and executing strength and conditioning programs for assigned athletic teams, including Women’s Lacrosse and Men’s & Women’s Swimming and Diving, while adhering to departmental, university, conference, and NCAA policies and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain knowledge of NCAA rules related to recruitment and job duties.
- Develop and execute strength and conditioning programs for assigned teams and student-athletes; assist with non-assigned sports as needed.
- Teach proper training techniques in the weight room or other designated areas to improve athletic performance.
- Support educational efforts in nutrition and general well-being; collaborate with the Registered Dietitian (RD) and refer student-athletes as needed.
- Supervise the weight room and other facilities, ensuring equipment maintenance and safety compliance.
- Collaborate with athletic training staff on injury rehabilitation and daily programs.
- Teach Strength and Conditioning principles.
- Provide direct or indirect supervision to staff, including hiring, evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the department.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification (must maintain).
- Certification through a nationally accredited strength and conditioning program (must maintain).
