You'll develop the Guides who engage directly with students, transforming them into outstanding coaches rather than traditional classroom instructors. You'll facilitate life skills workshops that students recall years afterward. You'll leverage performance data to pinpoint where students or Guides need support and coach them toward excellence. You'll also lead your own student cohort, ensuring the standards you uphold are the standards you demonstrate.

The impact is substantial. Each Guide you coach shapes dozens of students. Every enhancement you make to your campus culture multiplies across hundreds of young lives. Responsibilities

• Develop and coach Guides to execute Alpha's coaching model with consistency, intensity, and uncompromising standards.
• Facilitate dynamic life skills workshops on communication, focus, feedback, leadership, and resilience for K-8 students using tested playbooks.
• Leverage student and Guide performance data to surface coaching opportunities, eliminate obstacles, and achieve measurable progress weekly.
• Conduct motivation sessions that empower every student to embrace ambitious goals and reliably reach them.
• Lead your own student cohort while exemplifying the coaching quality and accountability you require from all Guides.

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Teaching academic content. Students master core academics independently via AI-powered learning applications.
• Developing lesson plans or designing curriculum. Your focus is outstanding coaching, not producing instructional materials.
• Managing classrooms using lectures, worksheets, or behavior management systems. Students direct their own learning, and you coach the habits that enable their success.
• Reducing expectations to sidestep challenging conversations. High standards and authentic belief in every student's capacity are inseparable.
• Defining success by activity rather than outcomes. Results take precedence over effort alone.

Athletic Director Key Responsibilities

• Establish a coaching culture in which exceptional Guides reliably cultivate students who love school, achieve academic mastery at an accelerated rate, and develop the resilience, leadership, and life skills necessary to thrive well beyond the classroom.

Requirements

• Willing to work on campus in Austin, TX; Dallas, TX; Fort Worth, TX; or Oklahoma City, OK (relocation assistance provided).
• Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, Organizational Leadership, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in education, learning and development, coaching, youth leadership, or related area.
• Experience managing an ongoing team of five or more adults, with final or primary authority to hire team members and make performance-based termination decisions.
• Consistent, recurring responsibility for the learning, behavior, motivation, or development of children ages 5-14 in an educational, developmental, athletic, or youth leadership context.
• Demonstrated history of building, launching, or substantially expanding a program, team, school, business, or initiative from inception, rather than only sustaining or inheriting one.
• Established ability to apply performance metrics and data to identify problems, prioritize initiatives, and produce measurable outcomes.
• Willingness to work in a school that intentionally rejects traditional pedagogy.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.

Nice-to-have Requirements

• Master's degree in Education, Psychology, Organizational Leadership, or related discipline.
• Experience coaching athletics, facilitating outdoor or experiential education, managing camps, youth programs, or other cohort-based organizations.
• Experience developing or directing innovative education, EdTech, tutoring, nonprofit, or learning programs beyond traditional classroom instruction.
• Personal track record of exceptional accomplishment in academics, athletics, entrepreneurship, or leadership.
• Deeply held belief that education should cultivate capable, resilient, independent young people rather than merely transmit academic content.
