Athletic Assistant Coach JV Lacrosse

About the Role

The Athletic Assistant Coach (JV Lacrosse) supports the head coach within the guidelines, rules, and regulations of the National Federation of High Schools, the Arizona Interscholastic Association, the Diocese of Phoenix, the school, the athletic department, and the specific sport. This role operates under the policies and procedures of the athletic department and the school’s conference.

Responsibilities

• Assists the head coach in instructing athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and training to achieve individual and team success while promoting the Pursuing Victory with Honor Program.
• Maintains discipline, handles grievances, and works to increase morale and cooperation among athletes and staff.
• Assists in the fundamental philosophy, skills, and techniques taught by the coaching staff and evaluates staff performance and program functionality.
• Ensures the safety of the sport’s venue and that all equipment is regulation-compliant, safe, properly maintained, and inventoried.
• Coordinates supervision of student-athletes in all areas of play, locker rooms, and other venues used by the sport.
• Maintains open communication with faculty, staff, and parents regarding the sport and advises student-athletes on academics, college recruiting, and scholarship applications in collaboration with the athletic director and guidance staff.
• Performs other job-related tasks as requested by the principal or athletic director.

Requirements

• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Preference given to Catholic teachers who meet Diocese of Phoenix employment requirements.
• Completion of Safe Environment Training and signed Code of Conduct.
• FBI Fingerprint clearance completed.
• Current Arizona State driver’s license is desirable.
• Good physical condition.
