About the role

This pivotal role supports the delivery of our high-performance environment by focusing on performance lifestyle, athlete wellbeing, and sports scholarships. Working under the guidance of the Senior Athlete Support Officer, you will act as a Dual Career Coordinator, delivering tailored one-to-one mentoring, workshops, and clean sport education to help student-athletes balance their academic and sporting ambitions.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive performance lifestyle services, promoting athlete well-being.
  • Provide essential one-to-one mentoring, pastoral care, and tailored workshops to help student-athletes balance academic and sporting commitments.
  • Manage sports scholarship programs, assist with recruitment and retention of national and international athletes.
  • Deliver crucial clean sport education to safeguard athlete integrity.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, connecting student-athletes with coaches, academic departments, admissions, and external stakeholders like TASS, Sport Wales, professional clubs, and National Governing Bodies (NGBs).

Requirements

  • Possess a sport-related qualification.
  • Hold a Level 3 Certificate in Talented Athlete Lifestyle Support or demonstrate a willingness to achieve it.
  • Proven experience supporting athletes in a higher education or coaching pathway.
  • A strong understanding of talent development systems.

Qualifications

  • Essential: Proven experience supporting athletes in a higher education or coaching pathway.
  • Desirable: Hold a Level 3 Certificate in Talented Athlete Lifestyle Support.

Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of clean sport principles and regulations.
