About the role

The Literacy Coach is responsible for supporting teachers in implementing effective literacy instruction across all grade levels K-5. This includes providing professional development, coaching, and resources to enhance reading and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in planning and delivering literacy instruction aligned with district curriculum standards.
• Provide ongoing professional development on best practices in literacy instruction.
• Conduct classroom observations and provide feedback to support teacher growth.
• Collaborate with other educators to develop and implement literacy initiatives.
• Develop and maintain a resource library for literacy materials and tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in education, literacy, or related field.
• At least two years of teaching experience at the elementary level.
• Strong knowledge of literacy pedagogy and instructional strategies.
• Experience working with diverse student populations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in education or literacy preferred.
• Experience with data-driven decision making.
• Knowledge of state and national literacy standards.

Skills

• Ability to facilitate professional learning communities.
• Proficiency in using technology to support literacy instruction.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Pay

$40,000 - $45,000 annually.

Schedule

This position is full-time, 10-months per year, with summer hours from June 1 to July 31.
