ATE Mechanical Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Design and Document Interconnect Diagrams, Rack Assemblies, Altered Items, Cable Assemblies, Interface Modules, Parts Lists / BOMs, and Interface Test Adaptors
• Design Mounting Fixtures, Thermal / Vibration Fixtures, and other Mechanical Assemblies, with attention to Detailing, Dimensioning, and Configuration Management
• 3D Modelling and ANSYS Structural Analysis of Fixtures
• Investigate parts compatibility and tolerances, produce Release quality drawings, check conformance to standards, specifications, and requirements, and submitting outputs directly into a Configuration Management system
• Manage Parts Ordering and Receipt
• Generation of Presentation Packages for, and participation in, Electrical / Mechanical Design Reviews

Qualifications

• Required Skills: Test Equipment Console layout, ITA Design, Electrical/Mechanical Drafting, 2D and 3D Design and Modeling, Configuration Management Practices, Knowledge of Mil/ASME Standards, machining/manufacturing processes, materials/finishes, thermal calculations/management, Design Review preparation, and technical presentation package/document development
• Required Tools / Systems Support: Siemens NX (3D/2D), Visio, Enovia/Matrix Product Data Manager, ANSYS, Microsoft Office, Adobe, Powerpoint

Related Support

• Experience in PCB layout and routing is a plus.

Qualifications

• Required Education: B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years Test Equipment development experience
• Security Clearance: An existing U.S. Security Clearance is desired. The ability to obtain one is required
