Responsibilities
- Work as part of the CFSI Team, directly engaging with youth.
- Focus on reducing the risk of out-of-home placements by working one-on-one with youth and families in their homes and communities to identify strengths, interests, and achievable goals.
- Provide mentorship and support to help youth remain in their communities by strengthening attachments to school, community, and family.
- Identify natural supports and foster supportive networks to build resilience and connections for youth.
- Mentor youth in independent life skills and connect them to mental health services, substance abuse treatment, employment/vocational opportunities, and pro-social activities.
- Leverage community knowledge and an understanding of Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) to address quality-of-life outcomes and risks for the youth.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- One or more years' experience in child welfare, juvenile justice, or community engagement services required.
- Driver’s License with the ability to maintain insurance throughout employment required.
Qualifications
Familiar with the community they serve, Youth Coaches understand how Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) impact quality-of-life outcomes and risks for the youth they support.
