About the role

The government has launched a new uniform model for students in state primary schools. For girls, frocks have been designed, while for boys, shorts and half-shorts are specified. Emphasis is placed on comfort, usability, and uniformity.

Responsibilities

The Ministry of Education has announced that starting July, uniforms will be distributed free of charge to two schools per district across the country. The announcement was made at an internal cabinet meeting on Thursday (29 April), attended by Minister for Education and Primary and Higher Education Dr. A. N. Mahmud Hacanul Hakim and other relevant ministers from the executive branch. The meeting highlighted discussions with various business institutions about providing essential items for students.

Qualifications

The Bangladesh Garment and Textile Export Promotion Council (BGETEC) has agreed to provide uniforms, bags, and shoes for one lakh students. Discussions are ongoing with key stakeholders to ensure the distribution of these items for students.
