The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers unique research opportunities to highly-talented scientists to engage in ongoing NASA research projects at a NASA Center, NASA Headquarters, or at a NASA-affiliated research institute. These one- to three-year fellowships are competitive and are designed to advance NASA’s missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology.
Responsibilities
Research opportunities can span a range of theory, data analysis, and mission development. Field of Science: Astrophysics.
Requirements
- Doctoral Degree.
- Applications with citizens from Designated Countries will not be accepted at this time, unless they are Legal Permanent Residents of the United States.
- A valid EAD card and I-485 or I-589 forms in pending status are required for applicants for LPR, asylees, or refugees in the U.S. at the time of application.
- Must be able to assess the potential impact of dust on cosmological analyses, and develop strategies for mitigating them.
- Must be able to participate in theoretical developments on dust thermodynamics, dynamics, optical properties, and the statistical inference of dust properties.
- Must be able to conduct data analysis on the dust lifecycle, dust composition in nearby galaxies, ice formation and evolution, Zodiacal dust, and the connections between dust and gas.
- Must be able to contribute to large galaxy surveys like those of Euclid and Roman as well as for potential future CMB surveys like CMB-S4 and the PICO satellite.
