Assurance Staff

Key Responsibilities

• Execute assigned audit procedures in accordance with engagement objectives and audit plans.
• Analyze financial statements and supporting documentation to identify potential risks or unusual relationships.
• Prepare clear and accurate audit workpapers documenting procedures performed and conclusions reached.
• Support walkthroughs and internal control testing activities.
• Absorb responses to client and auditor inquiries during the audit lifecycle.
• Maintain organized documentation in compliance with professional auditing standards.
• Collaborate with engagement team members to meet audit timelines and deliverables.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. Sufficient coursework to sit for the CPA exam is preferred.
• Experience: Approximately 1–2 years of related experience preferred in Financial statement audit. Experience supporting Government or DoW clients preferred.
• Skills: Foundational understanding of financial statement auditing principles. Ability to recognize potential audit issues from financial statement analysis. Strong documentation and analytical skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, deadline-driven environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Professional demeanor when interacting with client personnel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active CPA license or CPA candidate.
• CGFM, CDFM, or similar federal financial management certifications.
• Experience supporting audits conducted in accordance with GAGAS (Yellow Book).
• Familiarity with federal financial reporting requirements (e.g., OMB A-136).
• Experience with SAP ERC within the federal government.

Pay

$65k-$80k per year
