Assurance Intern, Summer 2028
About the role
Cohen & Co’s internship program delivers hands-on client experience, technical training, and mentorship within a “Great People First” culture. You’ll build lasting relationships with peers and firm leaders while contributing to real engagements across assurance, tax, and advisory services.
Responsibilities
- Assurance: Perform audit testing, assist with reporting, and ensure compliance on live engagements.
- Build Relationships: Connect with peers, mentors, and engagement teams through client work, firm events, and internship activities.
- Grow Your Skills: Receive ongoing feedback to sharpen technical and professional capabilities.
- Get Involved: Participate in firm-wide initiatives such as business development, recruitment, DEI efforts, and community service.
Internship Commitments
- Length: Early June – early August 2028
- Schedule: Full-time (32–40 hrs/wk) or part-time (minimum 20–25 hrs/wk) options available
- Pencils Down Week: One week off for all employees to recharge (subject to change; unpaid for interns)
Requirements
- Degree: Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
- Major: Accounting
- Coursework: Successfully completed introductory accounting course(s) and at least one intermediate accounting course before the internship start date
- GPA: Minimum 3.0
- Journey to CPA: Pursuing required credit hours to sit for the CPA Exam

Pay
Estimated base range: $20–$40 per hour. Compensation is determined by relevant skillset, experience, licensure, certifications, job responsibilities, geography, market considerations, and organizational needs.
