Asst. Director of Equipment Services / Football
About the role
The Asst. Director of Equipment Services / Football collaborates in the maintenance of athletic and sports equipment for the football program. This position involves managing ordering, distribution, collection, cleaning, repairing, and proper documentation of inventory for all play and practice equipment used by the Virginia Tech football team.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate appropriate knowledge of NCAA compliance rules and regulations, Atlantic Coast Conference uniform regulations, and the Commonwealth of Virginia purchasing guidelines, relative to ordering and issuing equipment.
- Oversee student managers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in sports management or related field with relevant experience, or a master's degree.
- Experience in a Division I collegiate athletics equipment and laundry services center.
- Working knowledge of equipment room inventory systems.
- Experience using an internet-based purchasing software.
- Experience using Banner Time Entry or similar wage hours recording system.
- Experience managing a large inventory.
Qualifications
- Preferred qualifications include experience in a NCAA Power 4 collegiate athletics equipment and/or laundry services center, certified member of the Athletic Equipment Managers Association, and supervisory experience.
- Budget management experience is also preferred.
Skills
Knowledge of NCAA compliance rules and regulations, Atlantic Coast Conference uniform regulations, and Commonwealth of Virginia purchasing guidelines is essential. Experience in managing a large inventory and supervising student staff is also required.

Pay
$47,000 annually
Schedule
Full-time, 40 hours per week. Nights and weekends may be required.
