Responsibilities
- Collaborates in the maintenance of athletic and sports equipment for the football program.
- Manages ordering, distribution, collection, cleaning, repairing, and proper documentation of inventory for all play and practice equipment used by the Virginia Tech football team.
- Demonstrate appropriate knowledge of NCAA compliance rules and regulations, Atlantic Coast Conference uniform regulations, and the Commonwealth of Virginia purchasing guidelines, relative to ordering and issuing equipment.
- Oversee student managers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in sports management or related field with relevant experience, or a master's degree.
- Experience in a Division I collegiate athletics equipment and laundry services center.
- Working knowledge of equipment room inventory systems.
- Experience using an internet-based purchasing software.
- Experience using Banner Time Entry or similar wage hours recording system.
- Experience managing a large inventory.
Qualifications
- Preferred qualifications include experience in a NCAA Power 4 collegiate athletics equipment and/or laundry services center, certification as a member of the Athletic Equipment Managers Association, supervisory experience, and budget management experience.
Skills
- Knowledge of NCAA compliance rules and regulations.
- Understanding of Atlantic Coast Conference uniform regulations.
- Compliance with Commonwealth of Virginia purchasing guidelines.
- Experience with equipment room inventory systems.
- Experience with internet-based purchasing software.
