Asst. Director of Equipment Services / Football

Responsibilities

• Collaborates in the maintenance of athletic and sports equipment for the football program.
• Manages ordering, distribution, collection, cleaning, repairing, and proper documentation of inventory for all play and practice equipment used by the Virginia Tech football team.
• Demonstrate appropriate knowledge of NCAA compliance rules and regulations, Atlantic Coast Conference uniform regulations, and the Commonwealth of Virginia purchasing guidelines, relative to ordering and issuing equipment.
• Oversee student managers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in sports management or related field with relevant experience, or a master's degree.
• Experience in a Division I collegiate athletics equipment and laundry services center.
• Working knowledge of equipment room inventory systems.
• Experience using an internet-based purchasing software.
• Experience using Banner Time Entry or similar wage hours recording system.
• Experience managing a large inventory.

Qualifications

• Preferred qualifications include experience in a NCAA Power 4 collegiate athletics equipment and/or laundry services center, certification as a member of the Athletic Equipment Managers Association, supervisory experience, and budget management experience.

Skills

• Knowledge of NCAA compliance rules and regulations.
• Understanding of Atlantic Coast Conference uniform regulations.
• Compliance with Commonwealth of Virginia purchasing guidelines.
• Experience with equipment room inventory systems.
• Experience with internet-based purchasing software.
