Asst Dietary Manager HCC - G2

Job Purpose

Aids the Dietary Manager in operating the Dietary Department by ensuring compliance with regulations and providing nutritional food services.

Key Responsibilities

• Interviews patients/families to gather diet history, preferences, and nutritional needs.
• Completes clinical record documentation and assesses nutritional needs based on comprehensive assessments and care plans.
• Reviews and serves regular and therapeutic diets and menus according to established procedures.
• Counsels patients on dietary preferences, food habits, and menu options.
• Assesses and documents patient backgrounds that may affect food consumption.
• Records and checks freezer and refrigerator temperatures.
• Orders food and supplies and stores them appropriately.
• Supervises tray line service and processes diet orders accurately.
• Makes menu substitutions and properly stores leftovers.
• Serves nourishments and follows procedural guidelines.
• Makes coffee/teas and serves partner meals.
• Supervises cleaning of kitchen equipment and operates dish machines and garbage disposals.
• Checks and records water temperatures and sanitizes equipment.

Minimum Education and Experience

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• A graduate of an accredited dietetic training program approved by the American Dietetic Association.
• Two (2) years’ experience in a supervisory capacity in a healthcare setting.
• Training in cost control, food management, diet therapy, etc.
