Major/Essential Functions

  • Examines patient, performs a comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
  • Orders and interprets labs, and diagnostic tests, such as X-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory test results for deviations from normal.
  • Prescribes medication.
  • Manages the health/illness status of patients and families over time.
  • Instructs and counsels patients, and family members as appropriate, regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
  • Provides supervision, mentoring and teaching to residents and students.

Required Qualifications

  • MD, DO or Foreign Equivalent degree.
  • Completion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step 3 or in the process of completing an ACGME Accredited Pediatric Residency.
  • Board certified, board eligible, or in the process of becoming board eligible in General Pediatrics with the expectation that one would maintain certification.

  • Experience with Electronic Health Records.
