Responsibilities

  • Obtains patient health histories, examines patient, performs a comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
  • Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in the provision of continuity of care.
  • Instructs and counsels patients and families regarding plans of care, compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
  • Develops strategies to prevent the spread of infections within hospitals and communities.
  • Manages both acute and chronic cases in hospital or clinic settings.
  • Educate the next generation of clinicians by delivering comprehensive education to residents and Texas Tech medical students.

Requirements

  • MD/DO/MBBS.
  • Completion of an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine Residency.
  • Completion of, or in the process of completing, an ACGME accredited Infectious Disease Fellowship.
  • Completion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step 3.

Qualifications

Pay

Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan website at https://app4.ttuhsc.edu/payplan.
