Asst/Assoc Professor in Actuarial Science/Statistics, Math Education, Pure or Applied
Position Summary
The Department of Mathematical Sciences at IUPUI invites applications for a tenure-track position as an Assistant or Associate Professor in actuarial science (statistics or statistics/probability with experience in actuarial science, financial mathematics, or related fields), mathematics education, pure or applied mathematics to begin on or before August 1, 2024. Responsibilities include teaching six courses over the first two years, with at least one course each term, and then four courses a year regularly, maintaining a strong research program, publishing the results of research, and the customary student advising and departmental and university service.
Qualifications
- An earned doctorate (at the time of appointment) in statistics, biostatistics, mathematics or related areas
- A strong research program
- The ability to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels
- For Associate Professor rank, an excellent track record of publications, evidence of the ability to engage in independent and/or collaborative (inter)disciplinary research, and existing funding or a high potential for receiving funding from the NSF, NIH or other top tier agencies or organizations
