Major Duties
- Collect, organize, and maintain client personal and estate planning profile data.
- Review and synthesize client profile data and assist in the design of client profiles and wealth plans integrating wealth management, wealth transfer, and tax efficiency goals.
- Create detailed balance sheets by reviewing source documents to ensure proper ownership.
- Create comprehensive flow charts that incorporate all estate planning and business entity documents.
- Cook up internal and external communications and meetings with prospects, clients, partners, and external advisors.
- Communicate with internal and external partners, professional advisors, and others to obtain and deliver wealth plan related information.
- Conduct fundamental research related to estate planning solutions and strategies.
- Prepare presentations for client meetings.
- Help manage daily operational activities and supervise day-to-day work of junior level employees (but not a formal management role).
- Perform light administrative duties required of the role, including travel and expense reporting for Family Office Solutions partners, preparation of meeting materials, pipeline management, meeting scheduling, etc.
- Attention to detail is a requirement so proofing is an important part of the job.
Qualifications
- 2-4 years estate and financial planning and analysis experience with high-income/net worth individuals and families desired.
- A familiarity with wealth transfer strategies, rudimentary estate and gift tax rules, and basic planning concepts like retirement and education planning.
- A basic understanding of wills, trusts, and ancillary estate planning documents.
- Expected to have or be pursuing professional designations including CFP®, CPA, JD, MBA, and similar evidence of advanced learning and professional qualification.
- Strong presentation and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with strong time management and organizational skills.
- A high attention to detail and well-developed proof-reading skills.
- Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint; Proficient in Outlook, Word, Adobe Acrobat, and Visio.
- Ability to learn other software platforms.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $99,600 - $169,200 USD. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits, health and welfare benefits, paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits.
