About the role
The Warehouse Associate works under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor and recommends changes in warehouse operations, the School Dude System, and/or APECS regarding receipt and processing of incoming stock and materials. This position manages stock storage, disbursement of warehouse stock and materials, and transfer of excess or surplus furniture and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Retrieve, manage, and disburse warehouse stock and materials.
- Recommend process changes to management regarding stock, materials, the School Dude System, APECS, and other warehouse-related matters.
- Support or serve as a lead for handling major stock received or disbursements.
- Conduct physical and cycle counts of warehouse stock, investigate discrepancies, and report statistics to management.
- Assist and recommend solutions for general or problematic warehouse-related matters.
- Receive and check incoming materials and equipment for accuracy of invoices, bills of lading, and requisitions; inspect products for defects and damages.
- Report discrepancies in supplies and materials (e.g., PPE, maintenance parts, books, educational supplies, fuel) to the appropriate supervisor.
- Prepare Bills of Lading and designated disposal documentation for the removal of surplus equipment.
- Load, unload, and arrange stock; load stock onto pallets for storage or transportation as necessary.
- Maintain accurate inventory records of materials, supplies, furniture, and equipment using computer data entry.
- Ensure the safe and proper loading of trucks and forklifts.
- Operate and maintain trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment; inspect equipment for proper working condition and safety.
- Prepare and submit accurate work records; perform related clerical duties such as copying, filing, and answering inquiries from school personnel and Central Office staff.
- Travel to various sites to verify and access furniture and equipment earmarked for disposal or transfer requests.
- Attend meetings and workshops to enhance job knowledge and skills.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or directed.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Logistics, or a related field, or a combination of equivalent education and/or directly relevant experience totaling four (4) years.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Valid Class D driver's license and ability to safely operate box trucks or light utility vehicles.
Degree Equivalency Formula: Bachelor’s Degree = 4 years plus required years of experience. Master’s Degree = 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Master’s degrees are required, years for Bachelor’s Degrees must be included.
