Associate Veterinarian- Part-Time

At Petco, we're dedicated to helping pets live their best lives. Our Vetco Total Care Full Service Veterinary Hospitals are where the pets go to find everything they need to thrive. We're looking for a dedicated Associate Veterinarian to join our team.

Responsibilities

- Provide excellent patient care by performing physical examinations, diagnosing and treating diseases, and providing preventive care. - Utilize a problem-based approach to develop comprehensive treatment plans. - Document all patient observations, findings, and treatments in the medical record. - Perform routine and complex surgical and dental procedures. - Participate in rounds and disseminate knowledge to improve the level of care. - Manage patient care, including day hospitalization and transition to overnight care.

Requirements

- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school. - Active licensure as a veterinarian in the state where the hospital is located. - Current DEA and Controlled Substance licenses, if applicable. - USDA Category I (minimum) Accreditation or completion within two months of hire.

Qualifications

- Comfortable performing anesthesia and routine surgeries. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Compassionate and sympathetic, maintaining a professional attitude. - Telephone and computer skills. - Team player willing to learn new techniques and treatments.
