Associate Veterinarian

About the role

VCA Cairo Animal Hospital, located in the scenic and historic suburb of Highland Park, IL, is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join our friendly, collaborative team!

Responsibilities

• Practice personalized, high-quality medicine with the support of a strong and skilled medical team.
• Provide preventive care and wellness exams, surgery (routine and some advanced soft tissue procedures), dentistry, radiology and in-house lab capabilities, chronic condition management and internal medicine, end-of-life care and client support.
• Work 3 Saturdays per month, with flexibility to adjust to a 3-day/week schedule.

Requirements

• A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, from an accredited university or equivalent.
• Licensure in good standing to practice in (IL), or the ability to obtain.
• A commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics.

Qualifications

• Experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Pay

Salary is negotiable based on experience, skills, knowledge, abilities and other relevant credentials. The annual salary range for this position is $77,000 to $160,000, listed is based on a 24-40 hour work week.

Schedule

We're open to part-time or full-time scheduling depending on the candidate's needs. Our current schedule priority includes: Friday and Saturday availability strongly preferred, Additional coverage one weekday (Wednesday or Thursday) ideal, especially if interested in surgery, Ideally 3 days/week, with flexibility to adjust.
