Associate Veterinarian

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive wellness exams and develop diagnostic and treatment plans.
• Diagnose and treat medical conditions in dogs, cats, and companion animals.
• Perform routine surgeries, including spays, neuters, and minor soft tissue procedures.
• Perform dental procedures (preferred).
• Manage anesthesia, pain control, and post-operative care.
• Interpret laboratory and diagnostic results.
• Educate pet owners on preventive care and treatment options.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to provide exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent from an accredited veterinary school.
• Active North Carolina Veterinary License (or eligible to obtain).
• Minimum 3 years of small animal clinical experience.
• Experience performing routine surgical procedures.
• Strong diagnostic, medical management, and client communication skills.
• PREFERRED: Experience performing dental procedures, experience with minor soft tissue surgeries, including mass removals, passion for nonprofit veterinary medicine and community outreach.
