Responsibilities

  • Empower team to deliver an unparalleled client experience.
  • Develop a rapport with clients and resolve their needs and wishes.
  • Perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures in a way that will deliver quality care while minimizing stress and discomfort of patients.
  • Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and make certain all logs are kept up to date through established protocols; assist colleagues in follow-up and future management of the patient.
  • Stays current with new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine, attend continuing education meetings.
  • Aid in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure the delivery of the highest quality care.
  • Positively represents the clinic in the professional community and to the public.
  • Support Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants issues as needed.
  • Participation in self-development courses along with Chewy Vet Care required compliance training.
  • Oversee operating, safety, and compliance procedures as required by applicable law and Chewy Vet Care processes and policies.

Requirements

  • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM, VMD) is required.
  • Active State license in good standing, DEA license and other state credentials as required.
  • 2 - 3 years’ experience in general medicine and surgery; residency or internship trained.
  • 2 years of supervised experience with veterinary radiation machines preferred.

  • Ability to multi-task and perform well in a fast-paced, self-starter environment.

Skills

  • Physical stamina to stand or walk up to 80% per shift.
  • Frequent lifting up to 70 pounds using an optional team lift.
  • Occasional lifting greater than 70+ pounds using a team lift.
  • Standing, pushing, pulling, carrying, squatting, and kneeling.

Pay

The base salary range for this role is $112,000 - $179,500.00. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location.

Schedule

This position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.
