Responsibilities
- Empower team to deliver an unparalleled client experience.
- Develop a rapport with clients and resolve their needs and wishes.
- Perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures.
- Master medical skills and perform basic surgery.
- Explain physical examination findings and communicate a diagnosis of the pet’s condition; generate and present a treatment plan to the client.
- Educate clients on preventative health care, including vaccines and appropriate nutritional products.
- Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and ensure all logs are updated according to established protocols; assist colleagues in follow-up and future management of the patient.
- Stay current with new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine, attend continuing education meetings.
- Aid in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure the delivery of the highest quality care.
- Positively represent the clinic in the professional community and to the public.
- Support Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants with escalations as needed.
- Participate in self-development courses and Chewy Vet Care required compliance training.
- Oversee operating, safety, and compliance procedures as required by applicable law and Chewy Vet Care processes and policies.
- The position may require some travel.
Requirements
- A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM, VMD) or equivalent is required.
- Active State license in good standing, DEA license, and other state credentials as required.
- 0 - 2 years’ experience in general medicine and surgery.
- 2 years of supervised experience with veterinary radiation machines preferred.
- Multi-task with a high degree of integrity and accountability.
- Outstanding listening and problem-solving skills, strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable collaborating with other veterinary professionals in a team-oriented environment.
- Passionate about helping people and pets with empathy and excellent customer service focus.
- Ability to multi-task and perform well in a fast-paced, self-starter environment.
Physical Job Requirements
- Standing or walking up to 80% per shift.
- Frequently lift up to 70 pounds using an optional team lift.
- Sometimes lift greater than 70+ pounds using a team lift.
- Stand, push, pull, carry, squat, and kneel.
Benefits
- Competitive base salary range of $129,500 - $207,000.00.

Pay
The base salary range for this role is $129,500 - $207,000.00. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location.
