About the role
Based in Downtown Los Angeles, this is a 2-year associate program within the U.S. Senior Loans Group. Oaktree’s U.S. Senior Loan strategy, launched in 2007, invests in broadly-syndicated, senior-secured loans or other senior, non-investment-grade debt, typically representing the most senior component in the borrower’s capital structure. The strategy focuses on U.S. dollar-denominated loans secured by first-priority liens in performing companies primarily within the U.S. and Canada, but also extends to Europe. It may also invest in second lien loans, non-dollar-denominated loans, and secured or unsecured bonds where the underlying business value exceeds the claim value in downside scenarios.
The group has expanded with products like Enhanced Income (a lightly-levered CLO structure) and a traditional CLO product.
