Associate Underwriter Germania General Agency

Key Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate renewal and remarketing requests, utilizing underwriting authority within established guidelines across all lines of business.
• Manage an assigned book of business by issuing, tracking, and binding renewal quotes while maintaining strong retention and policy servicing standards.
• Assess risk factors and carrier guidelines to determine appropriate market placement, including securing alternate coverage when necessary.
• Partner with carriers and agents to evaluate risks and obtain coverage through online rating systems and E&S underwriting channels for complex risks.
• Collect and review documentation required for quoting and account maintenance, including inspections, MVRs, CLUE reports, loss runs, and protection class ratings.
• Process policy service activities such as endorsements, cancellations, revisions, and claim notices.
• Maintain current knowledge of carrier guidelines, underwriting standards, products, and marketplace trends.
• Collaborate with underwriting partners to ensure thorough account management and continuity across assigned accounts.

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Professional insurance license, industry designation, or demonstrated insurance industry knowledge required.
• Experience in underwriting, insurance operations, agency support, or a related field preferred.
• Working knowledge of underwriting principles, carrier guidelines, and insurance products.
• Sales-oriented mindset with a focus on customer service, relationship management, and business growth preferred.
