About the role
The Associate Technician is responsible for the setup, operation, and basic maintenance of equipment within the assigned production area (surface or finish lab). This role involves interpreting work tickets, performing production operations, and ensuring equipment runs efficiently in accordance with established procedures.
Responsibilities
- Interpret Rx work tickets and perform production operations on specified equipment.
- Perform basic and routine maintenance of assigned equipment, including troubleshooting malfunctions and advising supervisors of potential remedies.
- Complete specific tasks such as:
- Lens washing and tool selection/replacement.
- Daily equipment setup and cleanup.
- Preparing solutions or slurry mixtures for lens production and ensuring sufficient supplies.
- Perform daily and weekly equipment calibration as directed by supervisors.
- Communicate effectively with all lab levels to ensure understanding and application of company policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and comply with all safety and attendance regulations.
- Assist team members to meet deadlines and maintain workflow balance.
- Train and guide less experienced employees, and attend training sessions as required.
- Handle hazardous substances/chemicals safely, following required safety training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to multitask, attention to detail, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic high school-level math skills.
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds.
Pay
Pay range: $18.14 – $26.00 per hour. Employee pay is determined by factors including geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements. Additional incentives may include bonuses and/or commission plans.
