About the role
We are seeking an Associate Technical Designer to support the Technical Design team.
Responsibilities
- Technical Design Execution
- Support the development of fit standards, construction details, and garment specifications.
- Maintain technical accuracy and consistency across product categories.
- Create and maintain technical packages (tech packs) and garment specifications.
- Create and maintain measurement charts and grade rules.
- Create and maintain construction standards and workmanship guidelines.
- Create and maintain block libraries and seasonal updates.
- Avoid errors in technical documentation.
- Fit & Sample Evaluation
- Support the fit process by reviewing and evaluating samples at various development stages.
- Record fit comments and update technical documentation following fittings.
- Work with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure fit corrections and revisions are implemented accurately.
- Garment Construction & Engineering
- Assess construction details to ensure garments meet both aesthetic and functional standards.
- Evaluate fabric properties and how they impact garment fit, drape, and performance.
- Support recommendations for garment engineering improvements to enhance manufacturability and consistency.
- Partner with Product Development and vendors to troubleshoot construction or pattern issues during development.
- Vendor Communication & Sample Tracking
- Communicate fit comments and technical updates clearly to vendors and internal teams.
- Track sample revisions and ensure updates are reflected accurately in technical documentation.
- Help monitor development progress to support timely approvals and production readiness.
- Minimum of 2 years of technical design experience.
- Education: Degree in patternmaking, technical design preferred.
- Experience working with multiple product categories preferred.
- Strong understanding of garment construction and pattern terminology.
- Experience evaluating fit and reviewing samples.
- Knowledge of grading and measurement specifications.
- Experience creating and maintaining technical packages.
- Proficiency in PLM systems, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Office / Excel.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Clear communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple development timelines.
- Problem-solving mindset with strong technical curiosity.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, standing and bending.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to access and navigate various departments at the organization's facilities.

Pay Transparency & Disclaimer
$70,000 - $80,000 depending on experience, skills, and qualifications. Compensation and benefits may vary based on role, location, and eligibility.
