About the role

KPMG is seeking an Associate to join their Tax practice. The role involves providing strategic support for a group of partners and/or managing directors (PMDs), serving as a trusted business advisor and coordinating all business support and engagement management.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage and supervise the work of offshore resources and collaborate with other internal teams to efficiently and effectively manage opportunities, engagement setup, billing and collections, and engagement closeout.
  • Analyze data, solve problems, handle communication and stakeholder interactions with discretion, and proactively address issues to ensure the smooth operation of engagements and realize business goals.
  • Determine correct bill rates and chargeable hours, proactively initiate and manage billing based on independent analysis of engagement metrics, client preferences, and interpretation of the specific terms of engagement letters.
  • Develop networks and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients, leveraging connections to drive engagement success.
  • Proactively manage PMD calendars based on business priorities, plan and coordinate for client and internal meetings and events, develop agendas and meeting support materials, select venues/meeting locations, manage catering arrangements, ensure optimal use of time and resources, and timely submit expense reports.
  • Independently address issues of moderate complexity, work autonomously, and collaborate as a productive member of a project team.

Requirements

  • One year of recent work experience or a minimum of three years of relevant work experience, preferably within a professional service or Tax business environment.
  • A minimum of an Associate or Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration from an accredited college/university.
  • Excellent technical skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly learn and utilize new technology and tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of interfacing effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent data analysis and web-based research skills; effective time and project management skills to ensure the successful management of multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently address issues of moderate complexity; ability to work autonomously and as a collaborative, productive member of a project team.
