Tax Associate, Private Investment Funds
This role at Norm Law supports a comprehensive funds tax practice for marquee managers in private equity, real estate, venture, and hedge funds. Key responsibilities include:
- Leverage AI agents to generate, compare, and redline fund formation documents, LPAs, subscription agreements, side letters, and tax opinion memoranda.
- Use AI tools to conduct rapid document reviews, identify key terms and tax provisions, and generate client-facing memos analyzing complex fund structures and investor tax considerations.
- Integrate AI agents into workflow management across the full fund lifecycle, including entity structuring, UBTI/ECI analysis, tax-exempt and non-U.S. investor vehicles, and portfolio transactions.
- Partner with clients to demonstrate how AI-assisted workflows enhance accuracy, transparency, and deal velocity.
- Collaborate with technology teams to continually optimize the fund tax practice using AI.
Skills and Experience
- Juris Doctor (JD); active bar admission in New York.
- 3-5 years of tax experience at a top law firm, with significant exposure to private investment funds (private equity, venture, and/or hedge).
- Strong technical foundation in partnership tax; familiarity with UBTI, ECI, and fund structuring for diverse investor bases.
- Interest in building AI-assisted workflows.
Compensation and Benefits
The starting salary range for this position is $270,000 - $385,000, with a comprehensive benefits package including a 401(k) plan with an employer match, top-tier insurance coverage, and relocation assistance for candidates relocating to NYC.
