Associate, Strategic Finance (FP&A)
About the Role
The Associate, Strategic Finance supports financial planning, analytics, and business insights for the Corporate, Operations, and Technology divisions. You will work with Finance leaders on business reviews, full-year projections, and strategic partnerships with business leadership. You will create new reporting and analytical insights to ensure visibility into business spending patterns and projections, presenting findings to multiple levels of leadership. You will report to the Senior Director, Strategic Finance & Corporate Development.
Work Location
This position is based in our New York City office, requiring a hybrid work schedule with 3 days of in-office work per week. Thursdays are a required in-office day for team meetings and events, while your other two office days are flexible to suit your schedule.
Responsibilities
- Craft recommendations using a data-driven approach combined with business intuition for senior executives to make pricing decisions that influence our growth and bottom line.
- Support the build of models and tooling that produce relevant business insights, including competitive intelligence insights and scenario modeling.
- Collaborate with Actuarial, Regional Leaders, Plan Design, and Sales teams to develop portfolio strategy for each Oscar market.
- Identify and research profitability tradeoffs, market trends, and membership insights to help guide company-wide strategic decisions.
- Source, organize, and analyze data to support all strategic programs in the team.
- Monitor important metrics and identify the latest trends around the ACA landscape for leadership to help quickly inform tactics during the selling season.
- Report intra-year membership analytics to leadership to understand the health of the business.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or Actuarial Science, or equivalent work experience.
- 4+ years of finance experience, including experience in Healthcare, Consulting, Insurance, or Financial Services.
- 2+ years of experience with Google products (Sheets, Docs, Slides) or Microsoft products.
- 2+ years of experience working with C-level executives.
Bonus Points
- MBA in Finance or MS in Financial Analysis.
- Experience in managed care, healthcare, or insurance.
- Proficiency in SQL/BigQuery to analyze large datasets.
- Proficiency working with NetSuite and Adaptive.
Pay
The base pay for this role is: $87,188 - $114,434 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program, and annual performance bonuses.
