Responsibilities
- Review of monthly fund and business entity closing summaries
- Report and analyze financial data for clients and investors
- Closing monthly books and records to general final performance figures
- Interact with clients and Hedge Fund Services teams to understand funds' activities
- Prepare financial statements for funds
- Work with external auditors to ensure accuracy of annual financial statements
- Operate independently with in-depth knowledge of business unit functions
- Focus on operational risk and profitability by automating manual processes and recommending improvements
- Act as a subject-matter expert on HFS proprietary system to address questions on functionality and capability
- Collaborate with HFS internal shared service teams to resolve accounting-related questions and ensure proper accounting treatment
- Research technical accounting policy questions for complex client transactions and monitor changes to U.S. GAAP and IFRS
- Perform discovery due diligence with clients to gather requirements, write business requirements, and test code releases in both integration and production environments
- Partner with HFS IT's external vendor on development approaches related to new functionality
- Interact with clients during the discovery and on-boarding phases
Qualifications
- A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience
- Related industry qualification (e.g. ACCA)
Skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- In-depth functional and industry knowledge
- Highly flexible and adaptable to change
- Technical skills/systems knowledge (e.g. Peoplesoft)

Pay
The salary range for this position is $95,600 - 162,400 USD. Northern Trust does not sponsor applicants for U.S. work visas.
