Associate Sourcing Manager - Denim

About the role

This is a hybrid role with three weeks per month onsite (Mon. - Thurs.). The fourth week is fully remote.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the Sourcing Manager to support product development and sourcing programs from concept through production.
  • Manage timelines, costing, vendor communication, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure high-quality products are delivered on time and in line with business objectives.
  • Own execution of product development with guidance from the Sourcing Manager, serving as a key liaison between Design, Merchants, and suppliers.
  • Manage time and action calendars, including negotiating and analyzing vendor lead times to maximize flexibility and speed.
  • Analyze and negotiate product costing, cost breakdowns, and minimum order quantity (MOQ) requirements.
  • Support sourcing strategy for assigned categories, including identifying opportunities for new suppliers, factories, or markets.
  • Aid in counter-sourcing and development initiatives to maintain competitive cost and lead times.
  • Partner cross-functionally to resolve development and production issues.
  • Participate in weekly Omni meetings to surface issues and drive resolution.
  • Validate and coordinate liabilities and debit notes with internal partners.
  • Support quality assurance by reviewing product testing reports and attending fittings as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience in denim sourcing and development strongly preferred, including knowledge of washes, finishes, and denim fabric construction.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience in sourcing, product development, or related area.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize work and operate independently while collaborating across teams.
  • Proven experience building long-term supplier relationships and negotiating strategic agreements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with PLM and business systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of garment construction and production is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, apparel/retail merchandising, business, marketing or a related field.
