Associate Solutions Engineer — AI & Automation

OpenExchange is hiring a fully remote Associate Solutions Engineer focused on AI and automation to support clients with AI-native solutions, prototypes, and integrations.

About the role

This is a forward-deployed role where you will work directly with clients to design and build agentic systems, turn organizational expertise into queryable capital, and evaluate model performance against real business outcomes. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with product, sales, and client-facing teams to translate requirements into build priorities and close the feedback loop between customer input and product development.

Responsibilities

• Design and build agentic systems to solve real business problems, treating agents as a first-class primitive
• Build knowledge infrastructure that turns organizational expertise into queryable capital
• Evaluate model performance against real business outcomes
• Work cross-functionally with product, sales, and client-facing teams to translate requirements into build priorities
• Close the loop between customer feedback and what ships
• Conduct business analysis to surface team needs and shape the product roadmap
• Prototype fast and iterate in the open, leaving clients with systems they own and control
• Help clients build a frontier ecosystem that compounds value inside their organization
• Identify leverage points for tighter feedback loops, better agent design, and smarter infrastructure
• Build and maintain internal AI tooling and documentation as the team and client base scale
• Foster collaboration across engineering, account management, and sales
• Work alongside senior engineers embedded directly with clients, participating in problem definition and solution implementation
• Build systems where agentic patterns are native to how the product works
• Build and maintain structured and unstructured databases, embedding pipelines, and retrieval systems
• Build feedback systems that measure meaningful organizational outcomes
• Support immediate project ownership from day one

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
• Up to 2 years in a technical or solutions-adjacent role (internships, co-ops, and independent project work count)
• Foundational Python or scripting skills
• Comfort reading, modifying, and running code independently
• Familiarity with databases including SQL, vector stores, or document databases
• Comfort working with APIs and structured data formats such as JSON and CSV
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and prioritize under pressure
• Comfortable working directly inside client environments and adapting quickly
• Demonstrated initiative and ability to learn new tools fast
• Flexibility in work hours to support international clients and global teams

• Shipped something agentic and observed it improve based on its own signal

$55,400–$75,900 per year
