The Boeing Company is seeking an Associate Software Test & Verification Engineer to support our KC-46 team in Tukwila, Washington. This role focuses on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization, contributing to software/hardware integration testing and formal qualification test (FQT) of Aerial Refueling and Mission System Software.

The KC-46 “Pegasus” is the new US Air Force aerial refueling tanker aircraft designed for multi-role missions including refueling, cargo/passenger transport, and medevac airlift. Based on the Boeing 767-2C, it is modified per US Air Force specifications and equipped with self-protection, defensive, and communication systems for survivability in contested environments.

Responsibilities

• Supports the design, development, and completion of test and verification of software products to ensure quality, reliability, and functionality.
• Partners with stakeholders to review and identify software requirements, test objectives, test strategies, and testability.
• Supports designing test plans, cases, and scenarios to meet software requirements and specifications.
• Contributes to the setup and configuration of test environments, including hardware, software, and network configurations to replicate production environments.
• Supports executing test cases and scenarios to verify functionality, performance, and safety of software systems, identifying and reporting defects, issues, and potential vulnerabilities.
• Provides test results and feedback on software design and functionality to resolve defects, issues, and vulnerabilities.
• Creates, documents, and maintains test plans, procedures, cases, artifacts, metrics, and data in accordance with data privacy and security protocols.
• Supports developing and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks to improve efficiency and effectiveness of testing processes.
• Contributes to software project management functions across test and verification activities involving multifunctional teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline or 4+ years of equivalent related experience.
• 2 or more years of experience designing and developing software test plans, test cases, and test procedures.
• 2 or more years of experience executing software test procedures/cases.
• Ability to obtain a Final Post Start Security Clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience in software development using languages such as C, C++, Java, or Ada.
• Experience using team collaboration tools including GitLab, Bitbucket, JIRA, and Confluence.
• Experience in software development processes compliant with internal and industry standards, guidelines, and best practices.
• Knowledge of verification, validation, certification, and qualification processes, including governing regulations and compliance requirements.
• Knowledge of customer or governmental regulations relevant to design, test, and certification (e.g., DO-178B/C).
• Knowledge of deriving and allocating requirements (e.g., system, sub-system, software) and showing traceability throughout the product lifecycle.
• Knowledge of the full software development life cycle (requirements, design, code, test, and certification).

Pay

Summary pay range for Associate: $90,950 - $123,050, based on candidate experience, qualifications, market, and business considerations.

Schedule

This position is for 1st shift.

This is a union-represented position. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” (U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) is required. This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required). An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
