About the role
The Associate Software Systems Engineer will join the B-1B Software team located in Tinker AFB, OK, focusing on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization. The B-1 Software Systems Team works with the United States Air Force (USAF) Customer to support software lifecycle activities using agile methodologies, with a focus on controls and displays, weapons delivery, navigation, and communication systems.
Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, analyzes, and maintains software systems that meet industry, customer, and internal quality, safety, security, and certification standards.
- Partners with stakeholders to inform system definition and translate system-level requirements into software requirements and models that meet customer, operational needs, performance requirements, and have clear traceability to design, code, and test artifacts.
- Completes software system-level analyses to identify risks, issues, and opportunities; integrates and deploys mitigation actions throughout the software lifecycle.
- Performs code reviews to ensure alignment to requirements and standards.
- Monitors and reviews test completion, verification processes, and issue resolution for software systems.
- Develops user documentation and training to educate end users about usage of software products.
- Reviews product and process for alignment with project plans and industry standards by tracking and evaluating internal team and supplier performance.
- Implements current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and changes in regulations relevant to software development.
- Performs software project management and software supplier management activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Security clearance (post-start).
- 1+ years of experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (including Requirements Analysis, Design, Code, Integration & Test).
- 1+ years of experience in software development.
- General experience working in an Agile software development lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 2+ years of related work experience OR
- Bachelor’s Degree and 6+ years of directly related work experience OR
- 10+ years of related, relevant experience.
- Experience supporting software and hardware integration of bombers platforms or similar aerospace systems.
- Experience in creating and updating requirements related to bombers platforms or similar aerospace systems.
- Experience in conducting test analysis to verify requirement verification and analysis.
Pay
Summary pay range for Associate: $87,550 - $118,450. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

This position is for 1st shift.
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance post-start is required, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.
