Position Summary
Globus Medical is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team. This role involves developing advanced algorithms for computer vision, tracking, real-time navigation, and image registration. The ideal candidate will have a proactive and autonomous mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and experience with C++ and Qt/QML.
Essential Functions
- Development of advanced algorithms for computer vision, tracking, real-time navigation, and image registration.
- Lead prototyping and feasibility studies for emerging navigation technologies.
- Support design transfer from R&D to production under ISO 13485 and FDA guidelines.
- Designs and develops specific aspects of software modules or components for medical devices.
- Deploy, maintain, and update full stack aspects of software applications for medical devices on various platforms.
- Test, debug, and troubleshoot navigation and image-based registration algorithms in cadaveric and laboratory settings.
- Contribute to and assist with functional testing in cadaveric settings.
- Manage all aspects of assigned tasks to ensure timely completion while remaining fully compliant with Globus software development environment (version control, toolchain, documentation tools) and quality system.
- Execute software design verification procedures and assist validation activities to ensure designs meet requirements.
- Periodically attend surgical cases to understand context and end-user requirements.
- Adhere to the company Code of Conduct, AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies.
- Ensure compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role.
- Represent the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Robotics Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering, or Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of professional programming experience.
- Proactive and autonomous mindset supported by problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a key contributor in small or large teams.
- Experience with or willingness to learn C++17 and later.
- Experience with or willingness to learn Qt and QML.
- Comfortable using or willing to learn standard software development environments (VisualStudio, VisualStudio Code) and GIT.
- Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office, and E-mail.
- Well organized, detail-oriented, and team player capable of working in a deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent oral, written, and graphical communication skills.
- Ability to work in an English-speaking environment, interacting with colleagues located in the USA and Switzerland daily.
- On-site job position. Ability to travel up to 5% of the time and attend cadaver labs and surgeries in the US and EU.

- Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
