About the role

The role of an Associate, Software Development Engineer at Publicis Sapient involves contributing to enterprise architecture release, implementation, and manage phases by creating defect-free code modules that meet business and technical requirements. This position requires a strong technical background and a commitment to agile methodologies and product engineering.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain digital business applications in an agile environment
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and define end-to-end customer requirements
• Work with an agile team to deliver sprint outcomes, iteratively and incrementally
• Define and document module/sub-system design, including interfaces and wireframes
• Optimize design decisions and consider trade-offs between functionality and performance
• Contribute to technical grooming, brainstorming, and whiteboarding sessions
• Write unit and acceptance test cases, adopting a Test-First approach
• Manage technical debt and follow engineering best practices and standards
• Perform peer reviews and use static analysis and profiling tools to ensure high code quality and performance
• Document code and user manuals for support and training

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional work experience building large-scale, large-volume services and distributed apps, taking them through production and post-production life cycles
• Expertise in multiple programming languages, with proficiency in at least one (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript)
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, Azure
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and time/space complexity
• Experience with design patterns, SOLID principles, and clean code practices
• Experience with web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, React, Vue)
• Experience with microservices architecture, DDD, and bounded contexts
• Experience with databases (RDBMS or NoSQL)
• Experience with web application frameworks (Spring, Flask, Django, Express, etc.)
• Experience with messaging platforms (JMS, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Tibco, Camel)
• Experience with mocking and stubbing frameworks (Moq)
• Experience with logging frameworks (Log4j, NLog)
• Experience with build tools (MsBuild, Maven, Gradle, Gulp)
• Experience with containerization, virtualization, and deployment to production
• Experience with proactive monitoring, alerting, and dashboards
• Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling)
• Experience with search solutions (ElasticSearch, Solr, Endeca)
• Experience with distributed tracing, debugging, and troubleshooting

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
