About the role
We are looking for a Junior Developer to design, develop, and maintain robust applications. This role involves working across both front-end and back-end technologies to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions. SWIFT is unable to sponsor an employment authorization for this position now or in the future.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement new user-facing features using modern front-end frameworks and libraries.
- Design, develop, and maintain server-side logic, databases, and APIs.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, and other developers to define, design, and ship new features.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications for maximum performance and scalability.
- Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding and debugging.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends including usage of AI tools like Windsurf and Microsoft Copilot.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 0-2 years experience in at least one back-end Object Oriented Programming Language such as C++/JAVA/Python.
- Strong understanding and hands-on development experience in frameworks and build tools like Springboot, Maven, CMake.
- Hands-on experience with relational databases (e.g., ORACLE, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, gRPC, microservices architecture, and containerization using Podman or Docker.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, Bitbucket).
- Quick and enthusiastic learner with intent to adopt the latest AI tools and technologies and think innovatively.
Pay
The estimated salary range for a new hire in this position in Virginia is $66,960.00 USD annual minimum to $124,354.00 USD annual maximum. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors including knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
