Associate Software Applications Developer
About the role
The System Offices is one of several system members within the Texas A&M University System, representing one of the largest systems of higher education in the nation. The mission is to provide education, conduct research, commercialize technology, offer training, and deliver services for the people of Texas and beyond.
Responsibilities
- Serves on software development teams to create and support web-based applications.
- Performs entry software development support functions.
- Affords assistance to clients and coworkers in defining application requirements.
- Identifies programming and output needs.
- Affords assistance in and verifies preliminary design and output, and recommends technical and procedural design for new or revised applications including flow charts, system specifications, programming guidelines, and code review.
- Affords assistance in reviewing, modifying, and writing program code and job control language.
- Affords assistance in writing documentation of system procedures and guidelines for application users as well as for programs and program modifications.
- Affords assistance with testing of complex programs, program modifications, or applications.
- Answers questions and provides technical assistance and training to application users.
- Solves problems by reviewing and analyzing software documentation and production outputs to identify causes, solutions, and make appropriate referrals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- No experience required.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of web site development with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
- Knowledge of SQL Server or other relational databases.
- Knowledge of object-oriented development (e.g. C#, ASP.NET or PHP) applied in a web environment.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Occasional work outside of normal office hours/weekends.
- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Skills
- Experience with web site development with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
- Experience with SQL Server or other relational databases.
- Experience with object-oriented development (e.g. C#, ASP.NET or PHP) applied in a web environment.

Pay
$3,657.34 - $5,833.33 per month commensurate with experience.
